  • Favorite Holiday: Christmas

  • If you could have any superpower what would it be and why: Patience – it is something I grant myself often but am not always as free to grant others

  • Hobbies: Spending time with my Grandchildren

  • What got you involved with Simpson Park Camp: I had retired from my role as a principal and God just opened the doors for me to join what He was doing here at SPC.

  • What year did you first come to Simpson Park Camp: First came in 1967 … so about 5 years😊

  • A Verse that Speaks to you: Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what we do not see.”  To live life certain of God’s promises is what I strive for.

  • What drew you to a relationship with God: The faith of my parents initially drew me to God.  I saw faith in action through their lives.  My faith grows because God is faithful and following Christ’s example just works.

What Does The Bible Say?

Hebrews 13:7- Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.

Doug is the leader among us and it is shown in the way that he lives his life. He leads by the way that he serves each and every one of us. He is truly a servant leader as we are called to be, so others may imitate his way of life and his faith.
